The league

Last year ended at the prototype. This year ends with real users.

Who it's for

It's built for product people.

  • Product designers
  • Product managers
  • Developers
  • UX researchers
  • UI designers
  • Product owners
  • Business analysts
  • Data analysts
  • Founders

Product designers, product managers and developers are at the core. Researchers, analysts, product owners and founders build with them too. Apply on your own or with your team.

In 2025, UX League brought 200+ designers and product thinkers together in Alexandria, Mansoura and Cairo. Teams built strong, user-centred concepts. Then the journey ended at the prototype.

“We don't want to stop at prototypes. We want to build, launch, and prove real-world impact.”
What teams told us

So this season goes further. You build, launch and validate a working product with real users, inside 72 hours.

Why now

  • AI lowered the barrier.

Strategy, design, development and validation used to need separate teams. AI tools now close much of that gap. You still own the product.

  • The problems are close to home.

Every track starts from a local problem, tied to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Proof beats polish.

Teams are judged on what real users did with their product.

Four tracks · Aligned with the UN SDGs

Choose one of four tracks.

Pick one track, then one real problem inside it, starting from the people it affects. Each track follows the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

  • A medical tablet showing scans, with pills and a stethoscope around it.

    01 · SDG 3

    Health & Well-being

    Access · prevention · mental well-being

Products that make care easier to reach, help people catch problems early, or support their mental well-being.

  • Children in a classroom trying VR headsets while a teacher works at a laptop.

    02 · SDG 4 + 8

    Education & Future of Work

    Learning · upskilling · employability

Products that help people learn, pick up new skills, or find and keep good work.

  • Glass towers wrapped in a ribbon of greenery.

    03 · SDG 9 + 11 + 13

    Sustainable Cities

Mobility · accessibility · resilient cities

Products that make it easier to get around, open the city up to more people, or help it cope with a changing climate.

  • A light bulb holding a small forest, next to wind turbines.

    04 · SDG 12 + 13

    Sustainable Living

Waste · reuse · responsible consumption

Products that cut waste, keep things in use for longer, or make the responsible choice the easy one.

Not sure which track fits? Pick the one where you can reach real users fastest. The sprint ends with evidence, not slides.

The format

You go from problem to proof in 72 hours.

Teams chase real signals: a first user, a sign-up, a booking, a transaction. A pitch deck is not the goal.

Selection

Here's how applications are scored.

Reviewers score every application from 1 to 5 on five criteria, against the descriptions below. Write yours with the 5s in mind.

Open a criterion to see what a 1 and a 3 look like.

  1. 01Problem clarityScores a 5: A specific person, a specific moment, and what goes wrong for them today.
    Scores a 3
A real problem, but the people or the moment are general.
    Scores a 1
Vague. No clear person or moment: it could be anyone, anywhere.
  2. 02User valueScores a 5: People would change what they do today to use it.
    Scores a 3
Useful to some people, but they can get by without it.
    Scores a 1
Unclear who would use it, or why they'd care.
  3. 03Feasible in 72 hoursScores a 5: The team can build it and put it in front of real users within the sprint.
    Scores a 3
A first version is possible, but one part depends on things outside the team's control.
    Scores a 1
Needs data, partners or access the team doesn't have.
  4. 04Team balanceScores a 5: Design, product and build are covered, and the roles fit the idea.
    Scores a 3
Can build it, with gaps the team names and has a plan for.
    Scores a 1
Missing the skills to build it: nobody to design it, or nobody to build it.
  5. 05Impact on the track's goalsScores a 5: Clearly moves the track's goal for the people it names.
    Scores a 3
Fits the track, with a modest effect.
    Scores a 1
Only loosely tied to the track.
AI in the league

AI reduces the barrier. You still own the product.

Use AI and modern build tools to move faster through research, design, development and testing. In the end, what counts is the product, the evidence from its users and what your team learned.

  • Use it anywhere.Research, design, code and testing: use AI wherever it saves your team time.

  • No AI feature needed.Your product doesn't need AI inside it. Judges look at what users did with it.

  • You own the result.Check what AI gives you. Your team is responsible for the product's quality.

Mentors & Judges

Meet the people behind the teams.

Practitioners from product teams across Egypt coach the teams and judge the final.

Mentors

Mentors guide teams through the two online days, challenge assumptions and unblock the build.

Judges

Judges evaluate each finalist's product, evidence and potential, in person at the final in Zewail City, and pick the winners.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Who can apply, what it costs, how selection works and what happens on each day.

Still have a question?

Write to us and the organisers will reply.

community@uxbreakfast.com
Who can take part?
Product designers and product managers are at the heart of it, with developers and AI builders. You apply with your own details and experience first; if you're building with a team, you add your teammates in the same form.
Can I apply on my own?
Yes. Apply on your own, or add your teammates in the same form. 1 to 5 people, including the team lead.
Do I need to code?
No. Teams mix product designers and product managers with developers and AI builders, and AI tools now carry much of the build. What matters is a real problem and a product people use.
Does our product need to use AI?
No. Use AI to research, design, build and test faster. The product itself doesn't need an AI feature, and your team stays responsible for its quality.
Does it cost anything?
No. Taking part is free, and so is attending the final.
How are applications selected?
The organisers review every application against one rubric: problem clarity, user value, feasibility in 72 hours, team balance and impact on the track's goals.
How do we hear our result?
On your application page, on 20 October 2026: accepted, waitlisted or declined. We also message you on WhatsApp. Accepted applicants confirm their place within 48 hours.
Where do we build?
Online, from wherever your team is. The two sprint days are remote, with mentors on hand. Then the final day is in person at Zewail City.
What do we need to build?
A working product that real people use during the sprint, plus the evidence that it worked: sign-ups, bookings, transactions or feedback. Judges look at user value and evidence, not complexity, so a pitch deck alone won't do.
Where is the final, and how do I get there?
At Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation, in 6th of October City, Giza. Directions, parking and access are on the venue page.
Can I come without competing?
Yes. Booking for attendees hasn't opened yet. When it does, you can register here and get your ticket on screen straight away.
